The tour will start at one of the most advanced rail operation centres in the country. Queensland Rail’s 24/7 Rail Management Centre (RMC) is the engine room of rail operations in Queensland. Security Teams also connect into 12,000 CCTV video feeds from across the network to ensure we can keep our customers safe and respond to security and property incidents as they unfold.
Mayne Yard is Queensland Rail’s primary stabling and maintenance precinct, originally established in the 1910s near Mayne Junction to replace the Roma Street depot. To support network growth and operations, major stabling upgrades and expansion works are underway at Mayne Yard. As part of Cross River Rail associated works, new train stabling facilities, a train crew building and a graffiti removal facility were also constructed at Mayne Yard North, which were commissioned and handed over to Queensland Rail in early 2023.
