Later moving into more project focused roles, eventually being appointed Chief Signalling & Telecommunication Engineer for a major rail contractor. In 2007 Automatic Train Protection systems were emerging as a viable enhancement to signalling, ETCS was becoming a reality. Jane joined Ansaldo STS, now Hitachi, to ensure her continued professional development in the new era of onboard signalling.
