Dr Hassan Raisianzadeh, Director, Safety & Regulatory Insights, Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR)
Hassan leads the data, intelligence and AI transformation of Australia’s national rail safety regulator. As Director, Safety & Regulatory Insights at ONRSR, he is turning data from a support service into a core regulatory capability. Through implementation of ONRSR’s Regulatory Intelligence Strategy 2025, he is transforming the organisation’s data analytics capabilities resulting in sharper regulatory decisions and earlier sight of emerging safety risk for industry.
Over 25 years in the NSW public sector, he has shaped how transport agencies use data. At Transport for NSW he held senior director roles in freight data and technology, business intelligence, and Road Safety data and analytics, and he led the State’s most comprehensive road crash data linkage program.
At AusRAIL 2026 he will look back on ONRSR’s 2025-26 progress and ahead to how analytics and AI-assisted insights can make trusted safety insight a shared asset across the rail industry.
