Carolyn Walsh has 40 years of experience in Commonwealth and NSW public services, specialising in industry, science, and transport. She is currently the Chair of the National Transport Commission, NSW Environment Protection Authority Board and Advisory Board for the NSW Transport Asset Manager. Carolyn also provides consultancy services in safety and risk management in her capacity as Principal Consultant with Abbott Risk Consulting.
Her previous roles include Commissioner of the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (2010-2020) and Chief Executive of NSW’s Independent Transport Safety and Reliability Regulator (2004-2009). Carolyn holds a Bachelor of Economics and qualifications in risk management and auditing.
She is a self-confessed cricket tragic and a lover of musical theatre.
