Synopsis:
You’ve just joined the delivery team on the Wattle Ridge Rail Link, a (fictional) new passenger line in South East Queensland. The schedule is under pressure, and the decisions you make will decide how – and when – it gets delivered.
Working in teams around tables, delegates will tackle a series of real-world delivery dilemmas using the same AI tooling already in use on major rail programmes, including the Transpennine Route Upgrade in the UK, the MBTA in the US and, closer to home, Victoria’s Infrastructure Delivery Authority. Each team weighs the options, argues through the trade-offs and casts its vote. Then we reveal what the data says, drawing on nPlan’s AI, which is trained on over 750,000 past project schedules, and compare it with how the room responded.
By the end you’ll understand what AI-led project delivery means in practice, how it works, and where it changes the decisions project teams make. The session is designed for rail leaders and experienced project professionals. AI is rapidly reshaping how infrastructure is planned, assured and delivered, and this is a hands-on way to get ahead of it.
