Stephen is a senior rail industry engineer and people leader with 40 years public and private sector rail experience in Australia and the UK. He has worked for a variety of rail organisations across the system lifecycle in both the public and private sectors. Stephen’s previous roles in Australia include Program Director Digital Systems (ETCS L2) for Transport for NSW, Global Lead Digital Train Control for GHD and Executive Director Rail Systems and Operations Reform for the National Transport Commission. He is widely recognised for his expertise in rail systems, operations, asset management, technology strategy and reform, as well as his leadership in advancing greater interoperability and harmonisation across the Australian rail network. Stephen is a Chartered Professional Engineer and a Fellow of both Engineers Australia and the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers.
