Even with a long career in Rail, Metro Tunnel Project (MTP) Dynamic Testing Manager Danny O’Connell still gets excited when whiteboard concepts become a reality. The London-born engineer has gained a wealth of international experience from diverse and prestigious roles. Starting his career on London Underground, he has worked in the various UK and European jobs assignments as a Project Engineer. A move to the Middle East beckoned as Testing and Commissioning Manager on the Dubai & Mecca Metro projects and Dubai Airport C3. Home soon came calling with the challenge of realising Crossrail’s grand plan of delivering the brand-new Elizabeth line as Dynamic Testing Manager and then head of Rail Commissioning.
