Backed by more than eight decades of experience and European rail innovation, SRA provides specialised mechanised maintenance solutions including ballast cleaning, track resurfacing, rail and civil projects, track ballasting operations and flash-butt welding. 

SRA offers national rail and civil solutions encompassing detailed asset inspections, comprehensive reporting and defect rectification, helping customers meet compliance requirements and extend the life of their rail infrastructure. Our collaborative approach ensures sustainability opportunities are maximised throughout project delivery, achieving the best outcomes for our clients, asset performance and the environment. 

SRA has cemented its position as the industry leader in ballast cleaning in New South Wales, having successfully delivered more than 330 kilometres of ballast cleaning across the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) Hunter Valley network since 2014. Our fence-to-fence betterment approach consistently delivers corridor and track improvements within each worksite, while maximising reuse and recycling of spoil material removed from track. Our core mechanised fleet includes two ballast cleaning and spoil wagon consists, as well as high-speed plain track and turnout resurfacing capabilities, operating at over 97% reliability. 

Our commitment to safety, excellence and our people has been recognised both locally and nationally, with SRA awarded Business of the Year at the 2024 Hunter Safety Awards, and winner of TrackSAFE Foundation’s Wellbeing in Rail Award at the 2025 Australasian Rail Industry Awards.
