As Chief Executive Officer of Auckland One Rail, Paul has the privilege of leading New Zealand’s largest passenger train operator, providing train operations and management of train maintenance under contract to Auckland Transport.
Auckland One Rail draws on the resources and extensive experience of the joint venture partners, ComfortDelGro Transit (CDGT) and UGL, to deliver world-class rail services for Auckland.
Paul has 30 years of experience in transport and in senior executive roles in safety, customer experience, operations, business development, strategy, and transformation.
During Paul’s 20 years in aviation, he led various operations, commercial activities, and customer experience in a number of Australia States and Territories and was involved in a number of significant projects.
Paul joined the rail industry 10 years ago, firstly with Metro Trains Melbourne, working in roles leading rail safety, revenue protection, customer experience and train crew divisions.
Prior to Auckland One Rail, Paul was the Executive General Manager of Operations for V/Line Corporation, Australia’s fastest growing regional train and coach operator.
Paul is on the Board of TrackSAFE New Zealand, is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, holds a Bachelor of Business Management, is a Certified Practitioner of Human Synergistics and has completed several advanced management programs including the MTR Corporation program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
