Sue is an accredited infrastructure sustainability professional and qualified planner with 30 years’ experience in government, industry and consulting. As a Technical Director at GHD she provides infrastructure sustainability and climate change risk services. Sue has extensive experience in sustainability in rail project design, delivery and operations. At GHD she is Sustainability Lead in the Design JV for the Sydney Metro West – Western Tunnelling Package and is also supporting the Vic Department of Transport and Planning to develop its rail and tram critical asset climate adaptation planning process. Previously at Transport for NSW she led sustainability in major rail projects including Newcastle Light Rail, Parramatta Light Rail, Transport Access Program (TAP 3), More Trains More Services, Regional Rail (including the Regional Rail Fleet Mindyarra Maintenance Facility at Dubbo), New Intercity Fleet (NIF) (including the Mariyung Rail Fleet Maintenance Facility at Kangy Angy) and the Faster Rail program. As sustainability lead at Transport for NSW she also embedded sustainability throughout the rail project lifecycle including establishing transport standard sustainability requirements for sustainable procurement. Sue is a member of the Australasian Railway Association’s Sustainability Committee.
