Prue Newall started with Pacific National in December 2021 where she leads the execution of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework, with the objective to reduce Pacific National’s environmental and community impacts. In addition, Ms Newall is coordinating Pacific National’s decarbonisation pathway, supporting the increased role of rail freight in the national transition to a low carbon economy.
Ms Newall has over 15 years leadership experience in environmental and safety risk management, strategy and governance. Previously Ms Newall was at Qantas and responsible for leading the development of Group Safety Strategy and Environmental Risk Management Standards, safety governance, assurance and reporting.
Prior to Qantas, Ms Newall was at Sydney Water where she was accountable for the environmental governance framework, including climate change policy, environmental advisory and reporting to the senior executive.
Ms Newall holds a Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) from Macquarie University and is a qualified Environmental, WHS and Quality Auditor and Investigator.
