Peter has technical and maintenance expertise having specialised in the field of Railway Signalling construction, maintenance, technical and design areas for more than 35 years. He has an Electrical Engineering degree and a Systems Engineering Graduate Diploma to build on his extensive experience in signals maintenance and technical support in his earlier career. He has learnt and successfully applied six sigma and lean techniques to infrastructure and team improvement projects. His leadership roles include the Professional Head of Signal Design in RailCorp and the Lead Signals and Control Systems Engineer with the ASA (Asset Standards Authority) in Transport for NSW. He managed signals and control system assets for Transport for NSW by setting standards, developing specifications, conducting type approvals and facilitating greater private sector involvement.
Last year Peter joined the private sector and is the Principal Signals and Systems Assurance Manager with JMD RailTech where he manages the Systems assurance team and provides SME support to JMD RailTech and its many clients.
