Ian Shore is the Commercial Director – Rollingstock and Services for Alstom Transport Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), in addition to being a successful leader the ANZ transportation industry.
He has the responsibility for being Alstom’s main company interface and commercial lead for all key accounts (Government and Private) across ANZ. Ian is recognised for his strategic vision, negotiation skills, entrepreneurial approach, and collaborative leadership style, boosted through his experiences with national and international companies.
Ian is proud to lead Alstom’s Commercial team delivering innovative and integrated, city shaping, sustainable and inclusive transport solutions to Alstom’s clients in ANZ.
Prior to becoming the Commercial Director for Alstom ANZ, Ian was the ANZ Customer Director leading multiple large-scale government and private procurement opportunities such as the successful Next Generation Trams procurement in Victoria.
With 16 years of experience in the rail industry, Ian has held several leadership positions within both the commercial and delivery function, of the transport industry. With a track record of successfully delivering long-term sustainable value through new and organic growth. He brings a vision and commitment to ensuring safe, reliable, and inclusive transport systems whilst providing innovative, inspiring experiences for all Alstom’s customers and end users.
He began his career in the Automotive industry as an apprentice toolmaker and progressed through industries such as Defence and Aerospace before working in the transport sector. Ian brings local and international experience in leadership and strategy across sales, marketing, P&L ownership/responsibility, and commercial effectiveness.
Ian holds a Master of Commerce, specialising in International Business & Global Strategy from Sydney University (2015).
