Aran van Belkom is Technical Director of Lankhorst Engineered Products in the Netherlands, Europe’s leading manufacturer of recycled polymer products. Lankhorst produces polymer railway sleepers since 2005 and is technology leader with a wide variety of sleeper solutions for main track, switches and bridges, aiming at a fundamental understanding of polymer sleeper behavior in track.
Aran did his MSc at the Technical University in Delft and recently finished a PhD research at the University of Southampton on the topic of polymer railway sleepers, for which he published 5 papers.
Aran is holder of 15 patents and is a member of the European and ISO standardization committee for polymer composite sleepers.
