The Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) is the professional body for railway systems engineers. It is a learned body which facilitates the growth and safety of the rail industry through the promotion of professional standards in the technology and management of Railway Signalling, Communications and Control Systems.
The Australasian section encourages professional development and networking through national technical meetings, frequent local meetings and formal professional education. The IRSE has its headquarters in London based organisation, it was formed in 1912. The Australasian section comprises members of the IRSE who work locally to achieve the aims of the institution.
